May I take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Peter and I am retired but still work part time in the summer months at a motor racing circuit as a member of the safety team.
I have been involved one way or another with railway modelling for forty odd years. My main interests being American Short lines; I have a U shaped switching layout in a spare bedroom.
I was looking for a project to do during the winter layoff at work. Browsing on Gnatterbox gave me the idea of a large scale model in a relatively small space. I was a member of Cheshire Railway Modellers Club and they held a competition to design and build a layout in four square feet or less and that is how Two Sister’s Farm came about. It is built to 1/32 scale using HO gauge track.
I wanted something different from the norm so I built some unusual devices used for motive power and although a different scale to you Gnatterboxers, I think some of the devices could be replicated in your scale equally well.
The picture shows the completed layout at its second public showing.
If anyone is interested I can submit details of some of the more interesting items of motive power and give a layout tour.

I too saw this in the Modeller, great layout. I particularly like the rail mounted lorry.
I'd also be interested to hear about the half relief greenhouse, odd as that may seem!
Welcome along. _________________ Thanks,

Welcome Peter Your layout looks wonderful. I'd love to see more too. I'm a member of Gloucester Model Railway Club (well in spirit anyway). I miss it big time. Though the Gnatterbox is just like a club in many ways, except a bit Gnutty ... which is Gnice _________________ Little old lines to somewhere.

Thank you gentlemen for the warm welcome, I feel I should have joined ages ago.
I will now continue the story under the heading, “The Two Sister’s Farm saga” in the Modelling Matters section.
To be going on with a view of the Opel Blitz rail truck emerging from the fiddle yard. The tractors are being checked over before their day’s work in the fields.

Of course you should! It's amazing the number of folk who say this.
OK - tongue now removed from cheek - it's great to have you here. There are some splendid modelling skills demonstrated in that layout. More please!
