Hi to all,
just a few words to introduce myself.
Born in Berlin (Germany), I was very early infected with the (model)railway-virus. My first oval with a clockwork-loco (H0) I got with about four years. Later on, I was allowed to play on dads 2 m² Märklin end-to-end layout. (Yes, we had - he still has - a railway-cellar!)
I got distracted by plastic kits, but never lost my connection to railways, especially the narrow-gauge. (We still have some Minex, converted to DC that is about to be reactivated. It is 0n30/016.5/0e - depending on where you are from.)
In 1989, after finishing school, my parents and I travelled to England to visit friends (in Kent) and to visit the hospital in Wakefield, where my mother worked as a physio in 1960/61. (I wouldn´t wander, if someone remembers a "Miss Birdman".)
My "Uncle" took dad and me to the RHDR, where the 15in-virus came...
So I now visit the Parkeisenbahn Dresden, when I have to work there and time allows. (sadly no customers in Leipzig or Stuttgart)
When my then fiancée (now SWMBO - first thing I learned here) showed interest in N-gauge with drawing an nice but crowded layout, the virus broke out and I made a layout myself in 09, with a background story I still have to translate, a terrain and proper rolling stock to build.
I have been visiting this forum for about half a year now and hope to contribute something to this valuable heap of information!
Greetings
Harald |

Welcome to the festival!

Hi Harald - welcome to the Gnuthouse As you'll have seen, there is lots of useful information and inspiration here. Don't hesitate to post pictures of your 09 layout! _________________ Bill

Hi Harald,
There is, of course, Gno Gnown cure, so you will just have to suffer with the rest of us for ever more.
Welcome!

This is what it looked like a year ago...
150 x 62 cm or Gnear 59" x 24"
The middle loop is raised
GnothinG Gnew, exept that it moved to a Gnew location.
I had some test runs with different locos, my kids (3 and 2) loved to see that. The Kato N Bogie chassis managed the 5" s-curve without problems.
I`ll start a layout thread when the terrain forming is complete, but I still hesitate to sign the contract with Weyland-Yutani!
